This policy will be applied to the admissions pathway for the National Selection for State University Entrance (SNMPTN) this year. This was stated by the Dean of FMIPA, Dr TM Iqbalsyah M Sc in Banda Aceh, Sunday (18\/2).\n\nThe SNMPTN pathway is a pathway that accommodates students' extra-curricular achievements as one of the factors that influence their graduation at state universities. Therefore, these champions can enter favorite study programs even though their academic achievements are not very good. Two of the favorite study programs for prospective students in each admission route are under the MIPA faculty, namely the Informatics study program and the Pharmacy study program. Both are included in the five favorite study programs chosen by prospective students.\n\nSome of the achievements that are accommodated for this scheme are Olympic champions in certain subject areas, English debate champions, sports champions, MTQ champions and memorizers of the Al-Quran, as well as various other competition winners.\n\n\"We hope that, through this scheme, there will be several sports athletes, memorizers of the Al-Quran, or champions of other competitions who will enter the MIPA faculty,\" said Iqbalsyah.\n\nAccording to him, although these non-academic champions sometimes do not show particularly outstanding achievements in the academic field, the achievements they achieve show that they have the potential to be serious and focused in certain fields.
