Aceh Besar \u2013 The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Universitas Syiah Kuala (FMIPA-USK) successfully organized a two-day ecoprint training session on Saturday and Sunday, October 12-13, 2024, in the village of Meunasah Kulam. This activity was part of a community partnership empowerment program aimed at boosting the local economy by introducing the eco-friendly fabric printing technique known as ecoprint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the theme “Empowered Together with Ecoprint: Colors of Life, Heritage of Nature,” the training attracted dozens of enthusiastic participants from the local community. The event was led by the community service team from FMIPA-USK and supported by various partners, including BIMA and other campus collaborators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspiring Creativity and Local Economic Growth<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ecoprint, a technique that uses leaves and other natural materials to create patterns on fabric, was introduced as a creative solution to promote sustainable economic growth. During the training, participants learned the steps from material preparation to printing, producing unique crafts that can be turned into high-value economic products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Through this ecoprint training, we hope to help the people of Meunasah Kulam create new business opportunities that support their family’s economy,” said one of the instructors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Active Participation and Community Support<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participants showed great enthusiasm as they practiced ecoprint techniques under the guidance of the FMIPA-USK team. In addition to enhancing their skills, this training aimed to foster awareness about the importance of environmental conservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This activity is very beneficial, especially as it combines art and environmental awareness,” said one participant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This program aligns with the vision of Universitas Syiah Kuala to foster strong relationships with the community and encourage the development of empowering skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hopes for the Future<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ecoprint training in Meunasah Kulam marks the initial step in promoting local products based on natural wisdom.
