Banda Aceh<\/strong> \u2013 The Pharmacist Oath-Taking Ceremony for the Fourth Cohort<\/em> of the Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), was held solemnly on Friday morning, marking a significant milestone for the graduates who officially earn the title Apt.<\/em> after completing their professional education. The ceremony was attended by the academic senate, faculty members, and the graduates\u2019 families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event began promptly at 08.30 a.m. with an opening by the Master of Ceremony, followed by a rendition of \u201cBagimu Negeri\u201d sung by all prospective pharmacists. The patriotic atmosphere set a tone of pride and heartfelt emotion across the hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shortly afterward, the Dean, Vice Deans, representatives of the Regional Board of the Indonesian Pharmacists Association (IAI) Aceh Province, the Head and Secretary of the Department of Pharmacy, professors, and academic leaders entered the hall to preside over the ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Official Proceedings Begin<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The national anthem \u201cIndonesia Raya\u201d was performed, followed by a recitation of the Holy Qur\u2019an by Muhammad Zubaily. The Dean of FMIPA USK, Prof. Dr. Taufik Fuadi Abidin, S.Si., M.Tech.<\/strong>, officially opened the Senate Session, marking the beginning of the academic procession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Head of the Department of Pharmacy, Tedy Kurniawan Bakri, S.Farm., M.Farm., Apt<\/strong>, then presented the graduation report. After the preparation of participants, the ceremony reached its most important moment: the Pharmacist Oath Recitation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Led by the Head of Department and religious leader Dr. Nurdin Ali<\/strong>, all prospective pharmacists solemnly recited the professional oath as a declaration of their ethical commitments and responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officially Becoming Pharmacists<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Following the oath, graduates proceeded with the signing of the pharmacist oath documents alongside official representatives. This formalized their status as newly inaugurated pharmacists. The song \u201cBagimu Negeri\u201d was once again performed as a symbol of dedication and service to the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A representative of the new pharmacists, apt. Nurfaizah, S.Farm<\/strong>, delivered a touching speech expressing gratitude to lecturers, families, and peers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dean\u2019s Remarks: Strength, Integrity, and Service<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Dean of FMIPA USK, Prof. Dr. Taufik Fuadi Abidin<\/strong>, then conveyed heartfelt congratulations and a powerful message about the future of the pharmacy profession. In his address, he stated:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToday marks not only your academic success but also the beginning of your service to society. A pharmacist is more than a provider of medicine \u2014 you are guardians of public health. Uphold integrity, practice compassion, and continue learning in a field that evolves every day.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He continued by emphasizing the importance of readiness in facing real-world challenges:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe healthcare landscape is changing rapidly. We need pharmacists who are adaptable, ethical, and innovative. I believe each of you carries the potential to contribute significantly to improving healthcare quality in Indonesia.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Taufik also expressed appreciation to the Department of Pharmacy and the families who supported the students throughout their journey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presentation of Attributes and Awards<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony continued with the presentation of professional attributes and the announcement of graduates. The hall filled with applause as each new pharmacist walked forward to receive their official recognition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The formal handover of the new pharmacists to the professional organization was conducted by the Department of Pharmacy and accepted by IAI Aceh, marking their entry into the professional field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, professional pins were bestowed<\/em>, followed by the official closing of the senate session by the Dean of FMIPA USK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outstanding graduates were then honored with achievement awards<\/em>, including Best Graduate<\/strong> and Highest OSCE Score<\/strong>, presented directly by the Dean and faculty leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Performances and Closing Sessions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A documentary video showcasing the graduates\u2019 academic journey was played, followed by poetry and musical performances from the new pharmacists, adding warmth and artistry to the celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event concluded with a closing prayer, after which the academic senate exited the hall. The MC formally closed the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
