Internal Evaluation Interview by the Inspectorate General Team of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Strengthens FMIPA USK’s Integrity Zone Development

Banda Aceh – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), welcomed the Internal Assessment Team (Tim Penilai Internal/TPI) from the Inspectorate General of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek) for an evaluation interview on the implementation of the Integrity Zone (Zona Integritas) program toward achieving the status of a Corruption-Free Area (WBK) and a Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Area (WBBM).

The evaluation process forms an important part of the government’s bureaucratic reform agenda, aimed at assessing the effectiveness of Integrity Zone implementation within higher education institutions. During the interview session, the Internal Assessment Team reviewed various aspects of the program, including change management, governance and business process improvements, human resource management, performance accountability, internal supervision, and public service quality enhancement.

FMIPA USK leadership, together with the Integrity Zone development team, presented a range of initiatives, innovations, and achievements that have been implemented to strengthen transparent, accountable, effective, and service-oriented governance. The assessment team also explored how integrity values and professional work culture have been embedded across the faculty’s academic and administrative units.

Dean of FMIPA USK, Prof. Dr. Taufik Fuadi Abidin, emphasized that the Integrity Zone initiative represents a long-term commitment shared by the entire academic community.

“The development of an Integrity Zone is not merely about meeting assessment indicators. It is about cultivating a culture of integrity, professionalism, transparency, and excellence in service. We are committed to ensuring that every service provided by FMIPA USK delivers real value and satisfaction to students, staff, stakeholders, and the wider community,” he stated.

According to Prof. Taufik, continuous improvements have been pursued through service digitalization, strengthened internal control systems, and capacity-building programs for faculty members and staff. He noted that the evaluation conducted by the Internal Assessment Team serves as an important opportunity for reflection and continuous improvement.

“We highly appreciate this evaluation process as part of our commitment to continuous quality enhancement. The recommendations and feedback from the Internal Assessment Team will help us further strengthen the implementation of the Integrity Zone and support FMIPA USK’s vision of becoming a more accountable, trustworthy, and globally competitive institution,” he added.

The Internal Assessment Team acknowledged FMIPA USK’s efforts in advancing bureaucratic reform and fostering a culture of integrity throughout the institution. The evaluation is expected to reinforce the faculty’s commitment to maintaining transparent governance, strengthening accountability, and delivering high-quality public services.

Through this evaluation interview, FMIPA USK reaffirmed its dedication to promoting integrity-driven governance and supporting sustainable institutional transformation. The results of the assessment will serve as an important benchmark for measuring the success of the Integrity Zone program while encouraging further improvements in governance and public service excellence within the faculty.
