FMIPA Universitas Syiah Kuala Strengthens Strategic Partnerships Through MoU Signing with Aceh Transportation Agency and Department of Industry and Trade

Prof. Dr. Taufik Fuadi Abidin, S.Si., M.Tech., Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), officially signed Partnership Agreements (Perjanjian Kerja Sama – PKS) with the Aceh Transportation Agency (Dinas Perhubungan Aceh) and the Aceh Department of Industry and Trade (Dinas Perindustrian dan Perdagangan Aceh). The signing ceremony was held in the Academic Senate Room of FMIPA USK, marking an important milestone in strengthening institutional collaboration between academia and the provincial government.

The partnership agreements were established to reinforce cooperation in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, encompassing education, research, and community service. The collaboration also aims to promote human resource development and the utilization of science and technology to support innovation and sustainable development throughout Aceh Province.

Representatives from FMIPA USK, the Aceh Transportation Agency, and the Aceh Department of Industry and Trade attended the ceremony, reflecting a shared commitment to building sustainable partnerships that bridge academic expertise with the needs of government institutions. The event served as a platform to strengthen cooperation in support of regional development through science, technology, and innovation.

The agreements provide a framework for collaborative initiatives in education, scientific research, community engagement, professional training, and institutional capacity building. They are also expected to facilitate knowledge exchange and encourage the implementation of research-based solutions to address challenges in transportation, industrial development, and public services.

During the discussion session, both parties explored opportunities for future collaboration involving lecturers, researchers, students, and government professionals. By integrating academic knowledge with practical experience, the partnership is expected to generate innovative solutions that contribute to evidence-based policymaking and regional progress.

Prof. Dr. Taufik Fuadi Abidin expressed his appreciation for the collaboration, emphasizing that partnerships with government institutions play a vital role in ensuring that the university’s academic expertise and research contribute directly to society. He noted that the agreements reflect FMIPA USK’s commitment to expanding strategic partnerships that create meaningful impacts through education, research, community service, and technological innovation.

The ceremony concluded with the exchange of signed partnership documents and a group photograph, symbolizing the beginning of closer institutional cooperation. Through these agreements, FMIPA USK, the Aceh Transportation Agency, and the Aceh Department of Industry and Trade reaffirm their commitment to fostering innovation, enhancing human resource capacity, and supporting sustainable development in Aceh through the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
