This collaboration represents an important step toward strengthening institutional synergy between higher education institutions in improving the quality of education, research, and community service. Through this partnership, both faculties are expected to develop collaborative initiatives that provide meaningful benefits for their academic communities and society.
The Dean of FMIPA USK, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Ilham Maulana, S.Si., emphasized the importance of inter-university collaboration in strengthening academic quality and expanding the contribution of higher education institutions to society.
“This cooperation agreement is an important step toward strengthening collaboration between FMIPA USK and Universitas Brawijaya. We believe that partnerships between higher education institutions are essential to improving the quality of education, encouraging research collaboration, and developing human resources capable of responding to scientific and technological advancements. Through this synergy, we hope to create sustainable programs that generate tangible benefits for our academic communities and society.”
The implementation of the Three Pillars of Higher Education serves as one of the key priorities of this partnership. In education, the collaboration is expected to create opportunities for joint academic activities, knowledge exchange, and improvements in teaching and learning. In research, collaboration between lecturers and researchers may encourage interdisciplinary studies, the exchange of scientific ideas, and greater research productivity.
In community service, the partnership is expected to strengthen the role of both institutions in addressing real-world challenges. By connecting academic expertise with community needs, collaborative initiatives can help translate research findings and scientific knowledge into practical solutions that support sustainable development.
Human resource development is another important focus of the agreement. Enhancing the competencies of lecturers, educational staff, and students is essential to building an academic environment that remains responsive to developments in science and technology. Through this partnership, both faculties are expected to create opportunities for professional development, academic exchange, and institutional capacity building.
The Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation at FMIPA USK, Dr. Meutia Faradilla, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., highlighted the importance of cooperation in expanding academic networks and creating opportunities for student and institutional development.
“We hope that this partnership will open up broader opportunities for collaboration, particularly in student development, academic networking, and the implementation of programs that have a meaningful impact. Cooperation between universities should go beyond formal agreements and lead to concrete activities that strengthen competencies, encourage knowledge sharing, and create long-term benefits for students, lecturers, alumni, and the wider community.”
The partnership also aligns with the spirit of Kampus Berdampak, which encourages universities to deliver tangible contributions through education, research, innovation, and community engagement. By combining the expertise and strengths of both institutions, collaborative programs are expected to generate relevant and sustainable outcomes.
For FMIPA USK, this partnership provides an opportunity to expand its academic network and strengthen its institutional capacity in responding to the evolving challenges of higher education. Collaboration with the Faculty of Science, Technology, and Mathematics of Universitas Brawijaya is expected to encourage new initiatives in academic development, scientific research, and community empowerment.
Moving forward, the cooperation agreement is expected to be implemented through concrete programs involving the academic communities of both institutions. The success of this partnership will depend not only on the agreement itself but also on the consistent implementation of activities, regular evaluation, and a shared commitment to achieving the established objectives.
Through this collaboration, FMIPA USK and the Faculty of Science, Technology, and Mathematics of Universitas Brawijaya reaffirm the importance of partnerships in building higher education institutions that are excellent, innovative, and committed to delivering meaningful societal impact. The agreement is expected to serve as a foundation for long-term collaboration that contributes to scientific advancement, human resource development, and community well-being.
