Another proud achievement was achieved by the FMIPA Unsyiah Mathematics Study Program. After BAN-PT awarded the highest accreditation certificate for the third time for the Mathematics Study Program, now this proud achievement is attributed to one of its lecturers, namely Dr Marwan Ramli. This Unsyiah Mathematics alumni class of 1991 succeeded in achieving the title of professor in the field of applied mathematics as of August 1 2016. This title made Dr Marwan Ramli the first Professor of Mathematics in Aceh as well as the first FMIPA Unsyiah alumni to hold the title of professor.
Currently the number of professors at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences is 3 people. Meanwhile, the number at universities increased to 47 professors. Born in Tanjung Pinang, Prof. Marwan completed his undergraduate program in Mathematics FMIPA Unsyiah, and his master’s and doctoral programs were completed at ITB Bandung.
