
BANDA ACEH- Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah) is building new buildings for three faculties worth IDR 314.7 billion.
The construction of buildings for the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH), and Faculty of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (FKP) was marked by the laying of the first stone by the Minister of Research , Technology and Higher Education (Menristekdikti), Prof. H Muhammad Nasir PhD Ak at the FMIPA Unsyiah Campus, Darussalam, Banda Aceh, Monday (15/5) morning.
The Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education targets the construction of the three new buildings to be completed within 17 months or mid-2018.
This project is funded by Saudi Fund Development (SFD) through Loan Number 9/612 and is not free, it must be used as well as possible to advance Unsyiah to become a world class university, ” stressed the Minister as reiterated by Unsyiah Public Relations in a release received by Serambinews.com, Monday (15/5/2017) at around 18.30 WIB.
It is said that the construction of this building is part of the 7 in 1 project funded by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and SFD.
It is said to be 7 in 1 because there are seven campuses that are part of the development target of this loan fund.
Meanwhile, the Saudi Arab Ambassador to Indonesia, Osama Bin Mohamed Abdullah Al Shuhaibi admitted that Aceh received extra attention from the Kingdom of Saudi Arab.
The people of Aceh must know that Aceh’s ties with Saudi Arab have not just begun now, but long before.
On the same occasion, Rector Unsyiah, Prof Dr Ir Samsul Rizal MEng explained that this 7 in 1 program is not only limited to building physical facilities, but also includes curriculum development and research support to the academic community in the three faculties involved in this project.
