Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA) Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah) held a Senate Meeting Open in the context of the MIPA Faculty Graduation Odd Semester 2017/2018 Academic Year August- October 2017 Period on Tuesday (14/11/2017) in the Unsyiah MIPA Faculty Hall Building. This event was attended by members of the MIPA Faculty senate and judicial participants along with their respective parents/guardians.
In his report, the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Dr Teuku M Iqbalsyah, stated that the judiciary for this period numbered 137 people, consisting of 10 postgraduates, 98 undergraduates and 29 diploma people. According to Dr Teuku M Iqbalsyah who is also Chair of the MIPA Faculty Senate, the number of alumni of the MIPA Faculty is recorded at 4275 consisting of 3038 undergraduates, 1199 diplomas and 38 postgraduates. The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences was founded in 1993 with its roots having existed since 1989 with 4 study programs (prodi), namely Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Currently, FMIPA has 4 Master’s study programs, 7 S1 study programs and 2 D-III study programs.
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has experienced quite rapid progress in the last year, especially in terms of study program accreditation rankings. The four main study programs have been accredited with an A rating from BAN-PT.
In his speech, the Dean thanked the parents of graduates who had entrusted the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty as a place to educate their children. The Dean also hopes for success for all graduates of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences after being officially released from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at this local graduation. “Success in this world and the hereafter. “Success in Islam is going to heaven,” said the Dean while citing several other definitions of success. On that occasion, the Dean also said that the construction of the new building for the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences is targeted for completion at the end of next year or early 2019 and at the same time invited the graduated graduates to attend the inauguration of the new building for the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences later.(mzk)
