Darrussalam- July 2018. The Microbiology Laboratory/peer group, Biology Department, FMIPA Unsyiah held a training activity on How to Teach Microbiology Effectively and Enjoyably for two days, 17-18 July 2018. This activity, which was held in the Senate Meeting Room of FMIPA Unsyiah, presented resource person Dr. Diana E. Waturangi, M.Sc. who is the American Society for Microbiology (ASM) Country Ambassador for Indonesia. This activity was attended by 43 lecturers and laboratory assistants from Unsyiah, UIN Ar-Raniry, and other educational institutions in Banda Aceh.
The chairman of the committee for this activity who is also the chairman of the Microbiology Peer group, Dr. Yulia Sari Ismail, M.Sc. in his speech, he said that this activity was organized as a result of the 2018 Laboratory Initial Fund Grant received by the FMIPA Unsyiah Microbiology Laboratory. Apart from that, Dr. Yulia Sari Ismail, M.Sc. also added that through this activity it is hoped that lecturers or laboratory assistants involved in microbiology lectures or practicums will be able to apply effective and creative teaching techniques for students.
This training activity was officially opened by the Head of the Biology Department, FMIPA Unsyiah, Dr. Betty Mauliya Bustam, M.Sc. In his speech, the Head of the Biology Department expressed his thanks to the entire committee who had organized this activity as well as to the resource persons who had taken the time to share their knowledge and experiences with lecturers and laboratory assistants in Banda Aceh. Apart from that, the Head of the Biology Department also thanked the participants and hoped that the participants would be able to get the maximum benefit from this activity.
