A group of students who are members of the Unsyiah Student Entrepreneurship Creativity Program (PKM-K) have succeeded in creating a product called Gayuen. Gayuen is a new innovative deodorant product that tries to revive ancestral traditions that have been lost and eroded by technological advances. Made from two main basic ingredients, namely betel lime and lime, Gayuen was born with the help of a grant from PKM-K in 2016 which was funded by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) of the Republic of Indonesia. The work of a Statistics student at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Unsyiah has now received halal certification from the Aceh Ulama Consultative Council (MPU). The certificate was issued in Banda Aceh on July 9 2018 with certification number 14150000010718 and is valid until July 8 2021. Gayuen Director Cut Sherly Amalia said that having been certified means that Gayuen has been proven to be produced hygienically and uses halal (non-impure) tools and materials.( mzk)
