Student Executive Board (BEM) Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Unsyiah again held the 2019 MIPA Student Sports Week (POM). This event began with an opening ceremony held at the Unsyiah Sport Center Building. Saturday, March 23 2019.
This event was attended by the Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs (WD III) FMIPA Unsyiah, Dr. rer. nat Ilham Maulana S.Si, Chair of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) Aceh, Chair of the FMIPA Unsyiah Alumni Family Association (IKA), Chair of BEM FMIPA Unsyiah, as well as the entire Department Student Association at FMIPA Unsyiah.
The opening of POM MIPA 2019 was symbolically inaugurated by hitting the first badminton ball by WD III FMIPA Unsyiah, Chair of KONI, Chair of IKA FMIPA Unsyiah, and Chair of BEM FMIPA Unsyiah. Apart from that, this event was also enlivened by a parade of athletes from each association.
Chairman of BEM FMIPA Unsyiah, Wan Ahmad Tohari, in his speech said that this event aims to develop the interests and talents of FMIPA Unsyiah students in the field of sports.
“The hope is that this event can also be a place to gather and stay in touch for students from every department and study program at FMIPA Unsyiah,” continued Wan.
WD III FMIPA Unsyiah, Dr. rer. Nat Ilham Maulana, S.Si, said that this event was part of the FMIPA student selection at the Unsyiah Games. The POM MIPA sports selected for the Unsyiah Games are volleyball, table tennis, basketball, chess and futsal.
“Through POM MIPA, we can look for superior seeds of Unsyiah FMIPA students who will compete in the Unsyiah Games,” he continued.
POM MIPA is an annual event which is part of the BEM FMIPA Unsyiah work program. POM MIPA consists of several sports, namely volleyball, table tennis, basketball, tug of war, chess and futsal.
The 2019 POM MIPA event is part of a series of activities “30 Years of FMIPA Unsyiah” consisting of various activities carried out by lecturers and students of FMIPA Unsyiah.
