
The Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) held the closing of the 2019 MIPA Student Sports Week (POM) after it was officially opened a few days ago. This activity was carried out at the Unsyiah Sport Center Building, Sunday (7/4/2019).
The activity, which was chaired by M. Dicky Putra Falefi, consisted of handing out rotating trophies for the futsal sport, championship prizes to the winners, and overall champions to the group that won the most medals.
This activity was attended by the Deputy Dean for Student and Alumni Affairs (WD III) FMIPA Unsyiah, Dr. rer. nat Ilham Maulana, S. Si, Chair of the Indonesian National Sports Association (KONI) Committee, Chair of the Alumni Family Association (IKA) FMIPA Unsyiah, Chair of BEM FMIPA Unsyiah, as well as all Departmental Student Associations at FMIPA Unsyiah.
The closing of POM MIPA 2019 was symbolically inaugurated with the curtain closing carried out by WD III FMIPA Unsyiah, Chair of IKA FMIPA Unsyiah, Chair of BEM FMIPA Unsyiah and Chair of DPM FMIPA.
Chairman of BEM FMIPA Unsyiah, Wan Ahmad Tohari, in his speech said that this POM event was held to look for superior seeds for FMIPA students who would compete in the Unsyiah Games event.
“This event is also a place to compete for the Futsal Sports Cup,” continued Wan.
WD III FMIPA Unsyiah, Dr. rer. Nat Ilham Maulana, S. Si, said that apart from being a place to search for student talent in the field of sports, this event is also hoped to increase enthusiasm and teach students the true meaning of honesty.
“Through this event, it is hoped that students can make FMIPA proud at the Unsyiah Games, and bring FMIPA to be even better in the future,” he continued.
The Statistics Students Association (HIMASTA) succeeded in winning the rotating trophy for the futsal sport. However, not for the general champion of POM MIPA 2019. The General Champion of POM MIPA 2019 is still held by last year’s general champion, namely the Information Management Student Association (HMMI). HMMI managed to get 7 medals, namely 3 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze.

Apart from that, in order to enliven the 2019 POM MIPA event, BEM FMIPA Unsyiah also held a give away photography. In this case, the category like most won by Safwan Maulana. Meanwhile, the best caption category was won by Emi Sahara .
POM MIPA is an annual event which is part of the BEM FMIPA Unsyiah work program. Some of the sports held by POM MIPA include volleyball, table tennis, basketball, tug of war, chess and futsal.
The 2019 POM MIPA event is part of a series of activities “30 years of FMIPA Unsyiah” which consists of various activities carried out by lecturers and students of FMIPA Unsyiah.
