FMIPA UNSYIAH currently has around 5000 alumni spread throughout Indonesia, and even in several corners of the world. Even though they graduated from FMIPA, the professions of this faculty’s alumni are quite diverse and surprising. In general, they work as scientists, academics and industrial practitioners, but quite a few also work in fields that are not directly connected to FMIPA science, for example as book writers, politicians and social activists.
According to the Deputy Dean for Alumni and Student Affairs, FMIPA UNSYIAH, Dr. Rer. Nat. Ilham Maulana, graduates are not only prepared to be able to work in their field, but are also educated to be able to compete and synergize with any scientific discipline, so that they are even able to create jobs.
“The many Student Affairs activities at FMIPA are also one of the strategic programs to produce graduates who are ready to face all possibilities in their future,” continued Ilham.
Meanwhile, Rahmat Hidayat in his inauguration speech on Saturday evening (9/11) hoped that the IKA FMIPA UNSYIAH forum would become a forum for alumni to share, synergize and complement each other in strengthening their individual competencies.
