Hello Young Scientists..!!
A piece of reflection for Guardian Lecturers & Student:
“MBKM program between expectations and reality”
Life is always between two choices. It’s as if we are in a battlefield. Do we come out as winners or losers…. The choice is up to each of us.
Rasulullah SAW. teaches us to try hard with enthusiasm, honesty and sincerity…. But the matter of the results of tawakkal is A’lallah… because it is only Allah SWT. Only those who know what is best for our lives….Even though sometimes it doesn’t match what we want.
Physics and Chemistry teach us the concept of wave-particle dualism, where light and matter have the properties of waves and particles. However, these two characteristics do not occur at the same time… meaning we are back to two choices… We are not allowed to apply dual modes or two standard operations at the same time….
Likewise with the MBKM program, students must be smart in choosing which program is right for them. Of course, after considering the pros and cons of each MBKM program. It is impossible for students to achieve optimal final results if they simultaneously choose and carry out 2 MBKM programs at once… For example, when students take part in an industrial internship program, students also carry out student exchange programs…..
This is where our role as guardian lecturers is to be able to provide guidance for them, when students are faced with several choices, all of which look beautiful at the start, but are full of thorns and thorns as they go along the path they take (read: MBKM Program).
My opinion: For example, for Physics students, refer to the 2021 Curriculum Structure of the Undergraduate Physics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, USK… where Compulsory and Elective MK are spread from semester 3 to semester 7, so that if students want to take part in one of the MBKM programs, So we should direct them to complete the Compulsory MK first, then in the 6th or 7th semester students can take part in one of the MBKM programs, such as entrepreneurship, industrial internships, village projects/building, research/campus teaching, etc. Meanwhile, they can participate in student exchange programs (such as the Permata Sakti, Pertama Sari, Permata BKS MIPA and Permata Andi or other credit earning programs) starting in semester 4.
Why not start from semester 3, because we believe that you are able to educate our children, to fill their basic abilities (basic knowledge) and the main competency of physics, which indicates that the student will graduate as a Bachelor Physics. After their body knowledge is formed in the main study program, we invite students to soar high with bright brains and humble hearts to seek additional competencies in other study programs or even outside PT.
Once again, life is always between two choices, the MBKM program is optional. The choice is up to the student, what program is best for them to follow.
