FMIPA USK Releases 56 Graduates

 

Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Syiah Kuala University (USK) released 56 graduates through an Open Senate Meeting in the Context of the Local Graduation of FMIPA Graduates, Even Semester, Academic Year 2021/2022, May Period until July 2022. The event which took place on Tuesday (9/8/2022) in the USK FMIPA hall was opened directly by the Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Dr. Teuku M. Iqbalsyah. M.Sc and attended by the chairman of the senate, deputy deans, and heads of departments within FMIPA. Apart from that, the graduates and their respective parents/guardians were also present.

The graduates who were released at this local graduation had previously been declared graduates at the FMIPA Judicial senate meeting. The graduates consisted of 2 postgraduate graduates, 46 undergraduate graduates, and 8 diploma graduates. In total, the number of USK FMIPA alumni up to the latest graduation was 5,932 people, consisting of 4,181 undergraduates, 1,542 diploma graduates, and 209 postgraduate program alumni.

FMIPA was officially founded in 1993, but its roots have existed since 1989. Currently, FMIPA has 5 Master’s study programs, 7 Bachelor’s study programs and 2 D-III study programs. This faculty is one of the major faculties at USK currently. Two of its study programs are even the favorite choices of prospective students every year, namely the Pharmacy and Informatics study programs.

Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Dr. Teuku M. Iqbalsyah. M.Sc, in his speech emphasized the importance of good character for FMIPA graduates. It is believed that this will make it easier for graduates to compete in the world of work.

“Observation results show that those with noble character are more successful in their careers than graduates who do not have character, even though their GPA is very high,” said Iqbalsyah.*
