Natural Journal, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Syiah Kuala University (USK) held Training on Optimizing the Use of the Opera Journal System (OJS) and Layout of Professional Publication Manuscripts. This activity will take place on Saturday, November 5 2022 at The Pade Hotel, Darul Imarah, Aceh Besar.
This training was attended by 24 Journal managers from USK and UIN Ar-Raniry. The training activity was opened by USK Vice Chancellor II, Prof. Dr. Marwan Ramli, M. Si, with moderator Dr. Eng. Elin Yusibani, S.Si, M.Eng.

In his speech, USK Deputy Chancellor II hoped that the training organized by the FMIPA Natural Journal would increase the enthusiasm of the training participants to be able to improve the quality of journals managed at the two universities.
Meanwhile, the Head of Training, Dr. Suhartono M.Sc in his speech said that this training activity aims to improve the quality of journal management, because there are still many journal management participants whose journal status has not been accredited. This could be caused by the lack of optimal use of OJS by journal managers. Apart from that, this activity also aims to improve the quality of the manuscript layout through the use of Adobe Indesign software so that the quality of the layout of the articles to be published is better. For journals that are not yet accredited, it is hoped that their status can be increased to become SINTA accredited journals or journals that already have accredited status can have their status increased to become reputable international journals (Scopus indexed).

This training presents two resource persons who are very competent in their fields. The first resource person, Mr. Ridwan Saputra, S.Pt., M.Si as Manager of the USK Journal OJS, shared his experiences regarding Optimizing the Use of the Opera Journal System (OJS). The second resource person, Mr. Haris Mustaqin, S.IP, MT as USK Press layout editor, conveyed the preparation strategy related to the layout of publication manuscripts or layouts professionally using Adobe Indesign software.
