
A total of 40 new students from the Pharmacist Professional Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Syiah Kuala University (USK) were officially welcomed in a welcoming event at the FMIPA USK Multipurpose Building. This activity, which took place on Monday morning (9/1/2023), was officially opened by USK’s Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Agussabti, M.Si. This event was attended by the Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Dr. Teuku M. Iqbalsyah. M.Sc, and the deputy deans of FMIPA USK, as well as the Chair and lecturers of the Pharmacy Department and Chair of the Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program FMIPA USK. Apart from that, several officials from the Pharmacist Study Program collaboration partners were also seen attending, including from the Aceh Mental Hospital, Kimia Farma, the Center for Food and Drug Monitoring (BBPOM), and several other invitees who also attended via the virtual zoom service.
USK Vice Chancellor in his speech said that improving academic quality is the responsibility of all parties. The next challenge for the future is to increase the capacity and soft skills of the students we graduate, including graduates of the Pharmacist Professional Program. Agussabti hopes that the Pharmacist Professional Program can continue to increase collaboration with other agencies such as Kimia Farma and various hospitals.
Meanwhile, in his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Teuku M. Iqbalsyah. M.Sc explained the profile of the USK Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty and the history of the birth of the Pharmacist Professional Program. Iqbalsyah expressed his gratitude to all parties involved in establishing the Pharmacist Professional Program, and also asked the Head of Study Program and the team to immediately submit the study program accreditation forms so that accreditation can be issued within the next six months at the latest.
The new students who were welcomed to the USK Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty had previously been declared graduates and became the first class for the even semester of 2022/2023.
