FMIPA USK Again Releases 116 Graduates

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Syiah Kuala University (USK) again released 116 graduates through an Open Senate Meeting in the Context of the Local Graduation of FMIPA Graduates, Even Semester, Academic Year 2022/2023, Period February to April 2023. The event took place on Wednesday (24/5/2023) in the Multipurpose Hall of the USK FMIPA Building, it was opened directly by the Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Dr. Teuku M. Iqbalsyah. M.Sc and attended by Deputy Deans, as well as Heads of Departments and Study Program Coordinators within USK FMIPA. Apart from that, the graduates and their respective parents/guardians were also present.
The graduates who were released at this local graduation had previously been declared graduates at the FMIPA Judicial senate meeting. The graduates consisted of 4 postgraduate graduates, 98 undergraduate graduates, and 14 diploma graduates. In total, the number of FMIPA USK alumni until the latest graduation reached 6,211 people, consisting of 4,556 undergraduate graduates, 1,437 diploma graduates, and 232 postgraduate graduates.

Dean of FMIPA USK, Prof. Dr. Teuku M. Iqbalsyah. M.Sc, in his speech congratulated the graduates on their success. Graduates must realize that you are the chosen people. For example, in 2020 there will be around 3.6 million high school graduates and only 2.1 million will be able to go on to college. Therefore, be more grateful and realize that your success today is not just because of your efforts and hard work. Your success is a blessing from Allah SWT, God Almighty, through the contribution of many people, especially your parents and teachers. Make the success you get today as a means to also make other people successful and happy
You graduate when Indonesia begins to enter the Demographic Bonus period, which will reach its peak around the mid-2040s. The demographic bonus is a period where the productive age population is greater than the non-productive age population. For Indonesia, it is estimated that the proportion of productive age is more than 60% of the total population of Indonesia. This momentum is of course met by preparing quality human resources in all aspects.
“It is believed that a demographic bonus in a country will only occur once in a very long period of time. Success in utilizing the momentum of the demographic bonus will make Indonesia a large and independent country that is respected by the world. The peak of the demographic bonus in Indonesia will occur when today’s graduates will become important decision makers in this country. Some of us sitting in front of you and your parents who are present today may no longer be with you at that time. Therefore, we entrust this nation and country to you. Geopolitically, this nation will face many trials. Believe me, there will be many efforts that do not want Indonesia to become a great nation through the demographic bonus. Indonesia will be fought, not using weapons, but through control of economic resources and by weakening its young generation. Therefore, always maintain your integrity and be firm in your hearts.” Said the Dean of FMIPA USK in his speech.

Iqbalsyah also mentioned that currently FMIPA USK is the only work unit at USK which is building a Corruption Free Regional Integrity Zone (ZI-WBK). Currently, the assessment at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) has been completed. The next stage is an assessment at the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan-RB).

“We really hope for the support and blessings of the graduates’ families to achieve our wish to have ZI-WBK status at FMIPA USK,” continued Iqbalsyah
