FMIPA USK Collaborates with DISKOMINSA Aceh to Strengthen Cooperation in Various Sectors

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Syiah Kuala University is collaborating with the Aceh Communication, Informatics and Cryptography Service (DISKOMINSA) through a cooperation agreement (PKS) to strengthen information and communication technology. The signing of the PKS was carried out by the Dean of FMIPA USK Prof. Dr. Taufik Fuadi Abidin, S.Si, M.Tech. together with the Head of the Aceh Communication, Informatics and Encryption Service Marwan Nusuf, B.HSc, MA. in the FMIPA USK Senate Meeting Room, Wednesday (24/1/2024)
The scope of this cooperation agreement includes learning activities within the framework of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka policy, education, research, development of science, technology, community service, and human resource development, as well as other agreed cooperation, in accordance with the functions and authority of PARA PARTY.


The Dean of FMIPA and the Head of the DISKOMINSA Service agree that this Agreement aims to support national policies and the Aceh Government through the provision of statistical and geospatial data services, management of communication media and public information services, basic data center infrastructure services, data management services and e-Government information through assistance. , strengthening human resources, planning and strengthening government institutions for data and information management.
In his opening remarks, the Dean of FMIPA Prof. Dr. Taufik Fuadi Abidin, S.Si, M.Tech explained the profile of the USK MIPA Faculty and hoped that this digital collaboration would open up a wider space for insight and provide benefits to both institutions. FMIPA USK currently has master’s programs with excellent and excellent accreditation, namely Masters in Mathematics, Masters in Physics, Masters in Artificial Intelligence, and in the near future there will be a Masters in Statistics.
“We, USK FMIPA, are also ready if there are studies or preparation of academic texts, which require brainstorming from us. Also for Community Service activities. We can arrange community empowerment programs through the Matching Fund Program from the Ministry of Education and Culture. “There are quite a lot of “low hanging fruits” that we can pick,” added Taufik.
Head of the DISKOMINSA Service, Marwan Nusuf, B.HSc, MA, in his speech said, “We can see that the opportunity to do something together with FMIPA is very open, not only with the Department of Informatics, or Statistics, or departments that have so far seemed relevant, but “also with other departments at FMIPA. And this is stated in the cooperation document that we signed today, that the opportunity to involve all study programs at FMIPA is very open.”


FMIPA USK, which was officially founded in 1993, has established dozens of collaborations with various agencies, both at home and abroad. This collaboration involves almost all study programs under FMIPA USK, namely five Master’s Study Programs, seven Undergraduate Study Programs, one Pharmacist Professional Study Program, and two Diploma Study Programs (D-III).
