
Banda Aceh, February 27, 2024- The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Syiah Kuala University (USK) held its annual meeting with the aim of discussing the work plan for 2025, consolidating the 2024 work programs, and evaluating the achievements of the previous year. Titled “Synergy Towards Improving Academic Quality and Strengthening Global Competitiveness,” this meeting aims to formulate the 2025 Budget Work Plan (RKA) while reviewing the implementation of programs in the 2024 RKA to realize the vision and mission of FMIPA-USK and achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Additional Performance Indicators (API).

In his speech, the Dean of FMIPA-USK, Prof. Dr. Taufik Fuadi Abidin, S.Si., M.Tech, stressed the importance of efforts to improve academic quality and foster global cooperation to enhance FMIPA’s global competitiveness. He also highlighted the importance of cooperation among study programs in achieving KPI and API targets. “Let us work together to make FMIPA and Syiah Kuala University better,” he said. Monitoring of KPI achievements will be evaluated every third week of each month in routine leadership meetings.
Performance improvement through KPI and API of FMIPA-USK is agreed upon through a work agreement contract signed by the dean with the rector, and further continued between department heads, study programs, and the dean. Directions were also given by the former dean of FMIPA-USK, Prof. Dr. TM Iqbalsyah, S.Si, M.Sc, who hoped that the programs designed in the previous year could run according to the set targets.
The meeting was attended by deputy deans, chairpersons of the faculty academic senate, SP4 chairpersons, SJMF, department heads, program heads, and other officials, including the alumni association chairperson. The results of this meeting will be further discussed in the upcoming university-level meeting.
At the same time, the dean of FMIPA also awarded the three best departments within the FMIPA-USK. “Congratulations to the Department of Biology, Department of Mathematics, and Department of Statistics for their outstanding performance achievements,” he concluded.
