Banda Aceh- A total of 39 students of the Professional Pharmacy Education Program (PSPPA) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Syiah Kuala University (USK) first batch have participated in the national examination of the Indonesian Pharmacy Education Program Competency Exam (UKMPPAI) using the Computer-Based Test (CBT) method at the USK ICT Center.
In the 200-minute examination, students were faced with 200 questions that had to be completed within a maximum working time of 1 minute per question. The UKMPPAI national examination using the CBT method is an important step in determining the graduation of PSPPA USK students to obtain the pharmacist degree.
Previously, FMIPA USK pharmacy students had also taken a national examination using the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) method conducted at the OSCE Center of the Pharmacy Department of FMIPA USK.
The Coordinator of the Pharmacy Study Program at FMIPA-USK, Tedy Kurniawan Bakri, S.Farm., M. Farm.Apt, expressed his hopes for the success of the students. “As the only Pharmacy Professional Program in Aceh, we hope that all PSPPA FMIPA USK students pass the national examination, thus producing new pharmacists who can contribute to the advancement of health in Indonesia, especially in the province of Aceh.”
The national examinations using the CBT and OSCE methods are important milestones in shaping the competencies of PSPPA FMIPA USK students and are the first steps for them to embark on a career as quality pharmacists. All parties hope that the results of these examinations meet expectations and bring positive contributions to the field of health in Indonesia.
