Arrival of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) Students at USK for Student Exchange Program

Banda Aceh, May 19, 2024 – Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) proudly welcomed 10 students and 1 accompanying lecturer from the School of Quantitative Sciences (SQS) at Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) for a Student Exchange Program. This initiative is part of USK’s efforts to support the World Class University (WCU) program. The delegation arrived in Banda Aceh on May 19, 2024, at 8:00 AM WIB, along with students and accompanying lecturers from USK who had completed their activities at UUM. Their arrival at Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport, Aceh, was warmly greeted by the Head of the Statistics Department, Prof. Dr. Zurnila Marli Kesuma, marking the beginning of the Student Exchange Program at USK, which will run until May 24, 2024.

On May 20, 2024, the delegation of students and lecturers from SQS UUM was invited to attend a welcoming ceremony organized by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) and the Statistics Department of USK. The event took place in the Senate Room of the FMIPA USK and was attended by faculty leaders and members of the Statistics Department.

In his welcoming speech, Dr. Nasrullah, S.Si, M.Si, M.Sc., Vice Dean 1 of FMIPA USK, expressed his delight at the arrival of the SQS UUM students. He hoped that the UUM students would participate in the programs designed by the USK Statistics Department, which include various academic and cultural activities.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suzilah Ismail, the accompanying lecturer from SQS UUM, conveyed her gratitude for the warm reception from FMIPA USK. She also expressed her hope that the academic and cultural cooperation between the two institutions would continue in the future.

During the event, a student from USK who had participated in the student exchange program at UUM and a student from UUM who came to USK were given the opportunity to share their impressions and hopes. They expressed their happiness in gaining numerous experiences and hoped that this program would continue and bring significant benefits to both universities.

The Student Exchange Program is expected not only to strengthen the relationship between Universitas Syiah Kuala and Universiti Utara Malaysia but also to enrich the knowledge and experiences of students from both institutions. USK remains committed to enhancing international cooperation to achieve its vision of becoming a world-class university.
