
Banda Aceh, July 20, 2024 – The Diploma 3 Program in Informatics Management (D3MI) at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), has recently completed a field assessment for accreditation, which took place on July 18 and 19, 2024. This assessment was conducted by the Independent Accreditation Institute for Informatics and Computers (LAM INFOKOM), a highly reputable organization responsible for ensuring the quality of education in the field of informatics and computers in Indonesia.
The assessment team appointed by LAM INFOKOM consisted of two prominent experts, Rahmad Widia Sembiring, M.Sc.IT., Ph.D., and Dra. Normalina Napitupulu, M.Sc. Both assessors have extensive experience and competence in the fields of informatics and computers. Their primary task was to verify the data and information submitted by the study program as the basis for accreditation criteria evaluation. This process aims to ensure that accreditation is granted based on an objective and comprehensive evaluation of the quality of the study program.

The opening ceremony of the field assessment was attended by several key figures from Universitas Syiah Kuala. The Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, the Dean and Vice Dean of FMIPA, and the heads of various institutions within USK were present at the event. In addition, faculty members, students, and alumni of the D3MI Program, as well as FMIPA administrative staff, also participated. The presence of these various stakeholders demonstrated their commitment and full support for the ongoing accreditation process.
During the two-day assessment, the evaluation team carried out various activities, including document reviews, interviews with faculty and students, and inspections of the facilities available to the study program. All data and information gathered during this assessment will be used to determine the extent to which the Diploma 3 Program in Informatics Management meets the accreditation criteria set by LAM INFOKOM.

The Dean of FMIPA USK expressed high appreciation to LAM INFOKOM and the assessors for conducting the field assessment professionally and objectively. “We are very grateful for the hard work and dedication of the assessment team in ensuring that this accreditation process runs smoothly and objectively. We hope that the results of this accreditation will reflect our quality and performance, and serve as motivation to continually improve the quality of education in the Diploma 3 Program in Informatics Management,” said the Dean of FMIPA USK.
High hopes were also expressed by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of USK. In his speech, he stated that this field assessment is an important step in the effort to improve the quality of education at Universitas Syiah Kuala, especially in the field of informatics and computers. “A good accreditation will have a positive impact not only on the study program but also on all students and alumni by enhancing their competitiveness in the job market,” he added.
With the completion of this field assessment, the Diploma 3 Program in Informatics Management is optimistic about obtaining the expected accreditation results. They are confident that the efforts made so far in improving the quality of education and facilities will be recognized and appreciated by LAM INFOKOM. Going forward, the Diploma 3 Program in Informatics Management is committed to continuing improvements and innovations to maintain and enhance the educational standards that have been achieved.
