USK Pharmacy Fair 2024: A Resounding Success, HIMAFAR Aims for International Stage

Banda Aceh – The Department of Pharmacy at Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) once again held its annual event, the USK Pharmacy Fair (UPF), which took place over two days on September 16 and 17, 2024. Organized by the Pharmacy Student Association (HIMAFAR), the event successfully attracted significant participation from attendees and sponsors.

The primary objectives of UPF 2024 were twofold: to promote the Department of Pharmacy at both the local and national levels, and to provide a platform for students and young scholars to showcase their achievements. The event received strong support from various stakeholders, including the Governor of Aceh, Aceh Regional Secretary, Bank Aceh, Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), and sponsors such as Dblue Studio, Muricon, Educational Pharmacy, Family Pharmacy, Pancamedia, Kopi Darat, Mr. Sabe, and the Aceh Mental Hospital.

A wide array of competitions was featured at UPF, including Poster Design, Product Design, Pharmaceutical Formulation, Herbarium, Coloring, Patient Counseling, English Speech, and Solo Vocal, alongside a webinar. Additionally, a blood donation drive in collaboration with PMI was held. The competition attracted participants from various schools in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar for the elementary and secondary school categories, while university-level participants came from prestigious institutions such as USK, Universitas Andalas (Unand), Universitas Airlangga (Unair), Sanata Dharma, and Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).

During the closing ceremony on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, the Vice Dean of Student Affairs and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Ir. Wira Dharma, S.Si., M.P., M.Si., expressed his immense appreciation for the grandeur and success of UPF 2024. He hopes that in the coming years, this event will evolve into an international-scale competition.

Similarly, the Head of the Department of Pharmacy, Mr. Tedy Kurniaan Bakri, S.Farm., M.Farm., Apt., conveyed his pride in the 2024 UPF, which attracted participants from top universities across Indonesia. He envisions the future of UPF going international, with collaborations that integrate seminars, community service, and other academic activities.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of UPF 2024,” Mr. Tedy concluded during his closing remarks.
