FMIPA-USK Holds Motivational Lecture “Equipping Students with Career Insights”

Banda Aceh, November 4, 2024 – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at Universitas Syiah Kuala (FMIPA-USK) successfully organized a motivational lecture titled “From College to Career” at the FMIPA Multipurpose Hall. This event featured two inspiring alumni, Acting Head of TP PKK Aceh, Safriati Safrizal, S.Si., M.Si., and Acting Head of TP PKK Banda Aceh, Yekki Yasmin, S.Si., M.Si., who have become influential figures in community empowerment. They shared valuable insights and experiences to help students navigate the transition from college to the workforce. The event took place from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and was moderated by Dr. Evi Rahmadhani, S.Si., M.Si.

The event was also attended by the Head of the Dharma Wanita Association of Universitas Syiah Kuala, Prof. Dr. Ir. Eti Indarti, M.Sc., and the Dean of FMIPA-USK, Prof. Dr. Taufik Fuadi Abidin, S.Si., M.Tech., who provided full support and encouragement for this event. Their presence underscored FMIPA-USK’s commitment to preparing its students for competitive career paths.

In appreciation of the speakers’ contributions, FMIPA-USK, through the Head of Dharma Wanita, Ibu Ridha Ferdhiana, S.Si., M.Sc., presented a special gift: eco-print products crafted by Biology Department students. These eco-friendly items reflect the integration of creativity with environmental awareness, a value emphasized in FMIPA-USK’s educational approach.

Safriati and Yekki, both proud alumni of FMIPA-USK, shared their insights on the importance of building professional networks and developing leadership skills as essential assets in the job market. Safriati highlighted that these two elements serve as a solid foundation for navigating the increasingly competitive workforce. Meanwhile, Yekki Yasmin stressed that college graduates should foster innovative mindsets and adaptability to tackle professional challenges. She also offered practical tips, emphasizing the importance of soft skills as a crucial asset for building a successful career.

The interaction between students and speakers was highly engaging, particularly during the Q&A session facilitated by Dr. Evi Rahmadhani. The students’ questions reflected their enthusiasm to understand more deeply the steps needed to prepare for the professional world.
