
Banda Aceh – The Bachelor’s Program in Statistics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK), underwent a field assessment by the Independent Accreditation Agency for Natural Sciences and Formal Sciences (LAMSAMA) on February 3–4, 2025.
The Dean of FMIPA-USK, Prof. Dr. Taufik Fuadi Abidin, S.Si, M.Tech, warmly welcomed the assessment team and emphasized that the UPPS team and the Department of Statistics are fully prepared to carry out the field assessment with full commitment. He also expressed his hope that this assessment would further strengthen the academic quality and management of study programs within FMIPA-USK.
The assessors assigned to this evaluation were Prof. Roberd Saragih, M.T. from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and Prof. Admi Nazra, M.Si., M.Sc. from Andalas University. This assessment aimed to evaluate and ensure the academic quality, curriculum, resources, and graduate achievements align with the standards set by LAMSAMA.

During the two-day assessment, the team conducted a comprehensive evaluation of various aspects of the study program. This process included interviews with faculty leaders, lecturers, administrative staff, students, alumni, and industry partners to gain a holistic understanding of the academic sustainability of the Statistics Program. Additionally, the assessors conducted direct inspections of academic support facilities, such as laboratories, classrooms, and the USK Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Unit, to ensure that the infrastructure is well-equipped to support the learning process.
This assessment is a crucial step in the Statistics Program’s ongoing efforts to enhance educational quality and ensure that its graduates possess competencies that meet the demands of the job market. With this assessment, it is hoped that the Statistics Program will achieve optimal results and further strengthen its academic reputation at both national and international levels.

The outcome of this assessment will serve as a basis for LAMSAMA to determine accreditation decisions that reflect the quality and educational standards implemented at the Bachelor’s Program in Statistics, FMIPA USK. All stakeholders are optimistic that the results will have a positive impact on the academic development and professional readiness of future graduates.
