Informatics FMIPA USK Undergoes Field Assessment by LAMINFOKOM

Banda Aceh, February 25, 2025 – The Informatics Study Program of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) warmly welcomed assessors from the Independent Accreditation Institute for Informatics and Computers (LAM INFOKOM) for a field assessment of its undergraduate program.

The two assessors conducting this assessment were Prof. Dr. Indra Budi, S.Kom., M.Kom and Dr. Muhammad Said Hasibuan, S.Kom., M.Kom. Their visit took place over two days, on February 25–26, 2025, at the FMIPA Senate Meeting Room.

The assessment event was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Ir. Agussabti, M.Si, Vice-Rector I of Universitas Syiah Kuala. In his opening remarks, he emphasized the importance of field assessments as a crucial part of academic quality improvement and achieving higher education standards.

This field assessment is part of the accreditation process aimed at evaluating the quality of education at the USK Informatics Study Program. Through this assessment, the assessors will review various academic and non-academic aspects, including the curriculum, facilities, human resources, and the achievements of students and alumni.

The Dean of FMIPA USK, Prof. Dr. Taufik Fuadi Abidin, S.Si, M.Tech, also warmly welcomed the assessment team. He affirmed that the Study Program Management Unit (UPPS) and the Informatics Study Program were fully prepared to carry out the field assessment with full commitment. Furthermore, he expressed his hope that this assessment would further strengthen the academic quality and management of study programs within FMIPA USK.

Throughout the two-day assessment, the assessors conducted a comprehensive evaluation of various aspects of the study program. This process included interviews with faculty leaders, lecturers, administrative staff, students, alumni, and industry partners to gain a holistic understanding of the academic sustainability of the Informatics Program. Additionally, the assessors conducted direct inspections of academic support facilities, such as laboratories, classrooms, and USK’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Unit, to ensure that the infrastructure is well-equipped to support the learning process.

The event was also attended by representatives from Telkom Aceh, the Department of Communication, Informatics, and Statistics of Banda Aceh (DISKOMINSTA), the Indonesian Institute of Arts and Culture (ISBI) Aceh, the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) Aceh, and the Department of Communication, Informatics, and Encryption of Aceh (DISKOMINSA). The presence of these partners provided valuable insights and feedback on the development of the study program to better align it with the needs of the industry, government, and creative sectors in Aceh.

With this assessment, it is expected that the USK Informatics Study Program will continue to enhance the quality of education and contribute more significantly to the field of technology and information, in line with USK’s vision as an independent, innovative, and open university.For further information regarding this assessment, please contact the Informatics Study Program of FMIPA USK.
