Empowering Innovation: USK Teams Triumph at Global Competitions in Korea and Malaysia

Banda Aceh, May 28, 2025 — Students from Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) have once again brought pride to the nation on the international stage. Two teams from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) have earned prestigious accolades in world-class competitions held in South Korea and Malaysia.

At the Korea International Women’s Invention Exposition (KIWIE) 2025, a team of three female USK students proudly won two prestigious awards: the Silver Prize and the Special Prize. This competition, which gathers women innovators from around the world, highlights creativity and originality in the fields of science and technology. Their achievement is a testament to the significant contributions of Indonesian women in global innovation.

Meanwhile, another FMIPA USK team achieved an equally remarkable feat at the 3rd International Youth Summit (IYS) 2025, held in Malaysia on May 24–25, 2025. They secured Second Place (Silver Medal) after presenting a scientific project that stood out in terms of innovation, implementation, and social impact.

The Dean of FMIPA USK expressed great pride and appreciation for this outstanding achievement. “This success is the result of hard work, collaborative spirit, and the dedication of our students, who continue to strive for excellence at the international level,” he stated.

These global achievements by USK teams are expected to inspire other students to continue innovating and contributing to education and research, both nationally and internationally.
