Around 300 people consisting of students and lecturers from various universities in Aceh were provided with the creative process of writing research proposals at the socialization event for the Indofood Research Nugraha program for the 2017-2018 period, Wednesday (26/4). The event which took place in the Hall of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) Syiah Kuala University (Unsyiah) was organized by PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk in collaboration with the Student Executive Board (BEM) FMIPA Unsyiah and students receiving the Karya Salemba Empat scholarship.
The two speakers presented were Indonesian food experts, namely Prof. Dr. FG Winarno, known as the father of Indonesian food technology, and Prof. Dr. Bustanul Arifin. MS, professor of Agricultural Economics, University of Lampung. Another speaker was Deni Puspahadi, as CSR Manager Corcomm Division PT Indofood.
The socialization with the theme “Educating the Nation through Food Independence Based on the potential of local wisdom” was opened by the deputy dean for academic affairs, FMIPA, Dr. Zumaidar, M.Si. In his speech, Zumaidar hoped that collaboration between industries such as Indofood and FMIPA as higher education institutions could continue to strengthen and lead to positive things in the future.
Meanwhile, Prof. Winarno explained material about harvesting rainwater. According to him, Indonesia’s situation is truly ironic, because this country is sometimes hit by floods, but sometimes hit by drought. This shows that the potential of rainwater has not been utilized.
