
Banda Aceh, October 19, 2024 — The 26th Scientific Week of FMIPA (PIL MIPA) Universitas Syiah Kuala (USK) successfully concluded with a vibrant celebration under the theme “Empowering Socio-Technopreneurs for Green and Digital Transformation: Aceh’s Path to a Golden Indonesia 2045.” Held from October 16 to 19, 2024, at FMIPA USK’s Auditorium, this event marked the celebration of the Faculty’s 35th anniversary (Lustrum VII), further solidifying its role in producing young talents who contribute to the advancement of science and technology in Aceh and Indonesia.
PIL MIPA 2024 showcased a series of innovative activities aimed at fostering intellectual, creative, and socio-entrepreneurial abilities among the participants. Key activities included the Science Quiz Competition for High Schools across Aceh, International Essay, International Poster Design, and National Business Model Canvas Competition. Each competition was designed to challenge participants to think critically, innovatively, and to create real solutions supporting green and digital transformation.
One of the highlights was the Young Scientist Competition for High School Students across Aceh, in collaboration with the Center for Young Scientist. This competition aimed to inspire young Acehnese to engage in scientific research, encouraging the emergence of young scientists who can drive innovation based on scientific principles.
Over 300 students from various high schools in Aceh also participated in the Try-Out for the National Selection Based on Test (SNBT) and Basic Competency Test (SKD), making PIL MIPA 2024 not just a competitive event, but also a practical one that benefits participants in preparing for national exams and university entrance tests.
The MIPA UMKM Expo was another highlight, showcasing the creativity of student organizations within FMIPA USK and the finest products of local Aceh Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The expo served as an ideal platform for MSME entrepreneurs to promote their products, build business networks, and contribute to local economic growth.

This year’s PIL MIPA also featured the National Seminar, which brought together two inspirational speakers: Kak Farwiza Farhan, Head of HAkA (Forest, Nature, and Environment of Aceh), and Dr. Ir. Syaifullah Muhammad, S.T., M.Eng, Head of the Atsiri Research Center, USK. The seminar addressed the theme of challenges and opportunities in green and digital transformation in Aceh, aligning with the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045. Both speakers shared valuable insights on the importance of environmental sustainability and the integration of technology in Aceh’s sustainable development.
