MAN 1 Banda Aceh students participating in the 2023 National Science Olympiad at Provincial Level (OSN-P) are now preparing themselves to be successful in this event at the provincial level in the future, so that they have the right to represent Aceh and are determined to make Aceh’s name proud at the national level.
One of the preparations made by MAN 1 Banda Aceh students is following direct guidance from Lecturers at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA) Syiah Kuala University or USK, Banda Aceh, 31 May- 3 June 2023.
On the first day, these students received enriched Olympic material according to their fields at MAN 1 Banda Aceh. Then on the second day, they did a practicum at FMIPA USK Banda Aceh.
Details of the OSN-P fields, namely Mathematics taught by Saiful Amri SSi MSi, Physics and Astronomy by Dr Suhrawardi Ilyas MSc, Chemistry by Dr Eka Safitri MSi, and Biology by Dr Amalia MSc. Furthermore, Dr Zahnur M Info Tech supervised the Informatics Sector and Fadhli Syamsudin SSi MSi supervised the Earth Sector.
The students were very enthusiastic about following the guidance from the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Lecturers. In fact, some of them have added independent guidance schedules.
The Head of the Banda Aceh City Ministry of Religion Office, H Abrar Zym SAg MH, through the Head of MAN 1 Banda Aceh, Nursiah SAg MPd expressed his thanks to the USK MIPA Faculty for mentoring the OSN-P participating students.
“Alhamdulillah, we would like to express our gratitude to the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Syiah Kuala University, which has helped MAN 1 Banda Aceh a lot in developing and improving the quality of madrasas, especially in the 2023 OSN-P enrichment program,” said Nursiah.
Nursiah said that this series of activities was a realization of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the USK MIPA Faculty and MAN 1 Banda Aceh which had been agreed upon in 2021.
This collaboration is an effort to improve the quality, achievements and development of madrasas in accordance with the MAN 1 Banda Aceh work program as a National Academic Leading Madrasah.
“We would especially like to thank the Dean of the USK MIPA Faculty, Prof. Dr Teuku M Iqbalsyah and the Deputy Deans, who have facilitated this activity. Then also the Heads of Departments and Heads of Study Programs within USK FMIPA,” he said.
As previously reported, 21 MAN 1 Banda Aceh students successfully advanced to the National Science Olympiad at Provincial Level (OSN-P) in 2023, after passing very tight competition at OSN at the Banda Aceh City level.
MAN 1 Banda Aceh is again determined to make Aceh’s name proud at the national level, where in 2022 it succeeded in donating the OSN Gold Medal at the National Level for Economics.
