Banda Aceh, September 15, 2024 – The Department of Informatics, FMIPA USK, held the ICELTICs 2024 on September 12-13, 2024, in Banda Aceh. The conference chair, Razief Perucha Fauzie Afidh, S.Si., M.Sc., stated that the event was held in collaboration with the Association of Indonesian Informatics and Computer Higher Education Institutions (APTIKOM). “We are pleased to report that the ICELTICs 2024 conference received 78 papers from various countries, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Tunisia, Germany, Slovenia, Bulgaria, India, Japan, and China. After a thorough evaluation by the committee, 31 papers were accepted for presentation and will be published in the ICELTICs 2024 proceedings,” he explained.
The theme of ICELTICs 2024, “Harmonizing Human-Machine Synergy: Shaping the Future with Responsible AI for Human Well-being,” underscores the importance of balancing and creating synergy between advanced technology and human needs. The conference will explore how AI and technology can be harmoniously combined with human contributions to enhance the quality of life and ensure a positive impact on society.
In attendance at the opening ceremony, the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Taufik Fuadi Abidin, S.Si., M.Tech., stated that international programs such as this can have a positive impact in improving the academic reputation towards becoming a World Class University. “It is worth mentioning that the ICELTICs agenda covers a variety of interesting topics such as Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Informatics and Computer Science, Communication and Computer Systems, as well as Information Systems and Technology,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Universitas Syiah Kuala, Prof. Dr. Ir. Marwan, in his remarks, expressed his gratitude to all participants from various countries attending ICELTICs 2024. This conference serves as a forum for discussing technological developments. “Thank you to the committee for bringing in renowned speakers and providing a quality platform for discussion and exchange of ideas,” said Prof. Dr. Ir. Marwan. “We hope ICELTICs 2024 will be a productive and inspiring event for all participants,” he concluded.
The keynote speakers included Dr. Zakaria Maamar, Dean of the College of Computing and Information Technology, University of Doha for Science and Technology, Dr. Chutiporn Anutariya, Head of the Department of Information and Communications Technologies, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, Dr. Said Mirza Pahlevi, Head of the Center for Research and Development of ICT Applications and Public Communication & Information, Ministry of Communication and Informatics of Indonesia, and Prof. Stephan Chalup, Professor at the School of Information and Physical Sciences (Data Science and Statistics), University of Newcastle, Australia.
